Restore the Harmonious State of Creation

This is a system of repair following a cosmic catastrophe according to Lurianic Kabbalah, where humanity acts as God’s partner to elevate and redeem scattered sparks of divine light. The aim is to fully heal the divine realm by finding scattered sparks of divine light gathering thus redeeming them.

The Cosmic Narrative

How the Universe Broke. To understand Olam HaTikkun, first the prior universe: Olam Ha Tohu (the “World of Chaos”) must be understood.

Creation

God contracted His infinite light (Tzimtzum) to make space for creation and sent forth divine vessels carrying primordial light.The Shattering: These vessels were too fragile to contain the intense divine energy. They imploded and shattered (Shevirat ha-Kelim).
The Trapped Sparks: The shards fell into our lower material realm, and with them, divine sparks of holiness became trapped in physical objects, actions, and even human flaws.

The Role of Olam HaTikkun

Olam HaTikkun is the universe that God subsequently created to restore order and harmony. Unlike the fragile vessels of Chaos, the vessels in this World of Rectification are structured and mature, intended to hold divine light properly. However, the foundational work of rectifying the universe was left incomplete.

Human Partnership (Tikkun Olam)

In this Kabbalistic framework, humanity is charged with Tikkun Olam—which translates to “repairing” or “rectifying the world”.
The Method: Every time an individual performs a mitzvah (a divine commandment, ethical act, or prayer), they act as a spiritual filter.
Elevating the Sparks: By choosing moral actions, charity, and holy deeds, humans extract the trapped divine sparks from physical reality and return them to their rightful heavenly source.
